Edina Nemesházi 2023-2026
Driven by her interest in revealing hidden patterns and evolutionary rules, she enjoys forming her own theories and see whether empirical data conform to them. While finishing her PhD research on conservation genetics of the white-tailed eagle across Europe in the Conservation Genetics Research Group at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, Edina’s professional focus slowly shifted to amphibian research around 2015. She started to study environmental sex-reversal of amphibians in the Evolutionary Ecology Research Group in Hungary and, being amazed by the complexity of open questions in this field, she was involved in laboratory experiments, field-based studies and theoretical works. Continuing a close collaboration with the Hungarian group, Edina joined the Rojas Lab in 2023 as principal investigator of her own FWF ESPRIT project, where she focused on fitness-related consequences of sex reversal in the agile frog.
